The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says a deputy was fired after being arrested in a Homeland Security investigation.
Sergeant Chris Wilbanks was arrested after he allegedly communicated in an inappropriate way with an eleven-year-old girl over the app Kik.
Officials say he used an alias and posed as a 14-year-old boy to solicit pornographic photos of the girl.
