A suspected hostage taker is recovering after being shot by a Newberry County sheriff's deputy.
The incident happened yesterday morning when deputies answered a call about a domestic conflict at a house on Thornhill Lane.
An armed man ran from the home into a nearby field where he confronted deputies and was shot. Three people escaped unharmed from the house.
