Sumter County Superintendent Proposes Closing Three Schools

(Sumter, SC)  --  Declining enrollment could lead to big changes in Sumter County schools.

Acting Superintendent Debbie Hamm yesterday announced plans to close three schools.  Her plan would close Rafting Creek Elementary, F.J. DeLaine Elementary and Mayewood Middle schools.

If the plan goes into effect, students from those schools will be sent to other schools that will offer expanded programs to accommodate the students.
