DOT Hosts Meeting To Discuss Freight Train Complaints

(Columbia, SC)  --  Columbia residents might need more patience when it comes to solving a problem that has been bothering them for years.

State transportation officials yesterday held a public meeting to discuss complaints about freight trains passing through downtown Columbia.  Neighbors say the trains cause traffic backups and noise problems.

The DOT is working with city and federal officials to come up with a solution, but 'WACH Fox' reports that solution could still be a couple years away.
