(Lake Murray, SC) -- An attempt to reach more people is the motivation behind bringing an annual tradition to the Midlands.
The ninth annual Salute from the Shore flyover event was held yesterday at Lake Murray for the first time.
Two F-16 fighter jets flew over boaters and people gathered on the shore who took pictures and videos.
A flyover was also held yesterday in Horry County, where the tradition started to honor the military.
