Record Flooding Expected For Waccamaw

(Wilmington, NC) -- Record flooding is expected in the Waccamaw River area.

The National Weather Service has a Flood Warning in effect in Horry County around Conway. As of last night, the water was already more than five feet above flood stage.

The NWS expects waters will rise at least another three feet to almost 19 feet by the weekend.

That would lead to flooding similar to what happened two years ago during Hurricane Matthew.
