Solicitor's Office Employee Pleads Guilty

(Columbia, SC) -- A public employee could get 20 years in prison for misusing taxpayer dollars.

Federal prosecutors announced this week that Columbia's Nicole Holland pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud.

While working for the Fifth Circuit Solicitor last year, Holland says she used public money for personal expenses like hotel stays and orthodontic work.

She'll be sentenced in February, and that's also when her boss, Solicitor Dan Johnson, will go on trial for similar charges.
