Upstate Pastor Responds To Methodist Vote On Gay Clergy

(Greenville, SC) -- An Upstate pastor supports a controversial vote taken by the United Methodist Church. 

National church leaders voted yesterday in St. Louis to uphold bans on gay clergy and gay marriage. 

Michael Cheatham is pastor at Greer's Zoar United Methodist Church, and he's pleased with the vote. 

He tells the Greenville News people need to know the church is still going to be the church.
