(Turbeville, SC) -- A new video could be proof that prison guards are responsible for the death of an inmate in Clarendon County.
The lawyer for the family of Allen Capers released the video yesterday as part of a lawsuit they filed after his death over a year ago at the Turbeville Correctional Institution.
The Johns Island 32-year-old was stabbed by his fellow inmates, and the video shows him lying on the ground and bleeding as prison guards fail to take action.
The Department of Corrections said yesterday the staff was wrong to not render aid, and they're committed to holding those responsible accountable.
