Violent Teen Offender Back In Custody After Escaping Juvenile Facility

(Columbia, SC) -- An juvenile offender is back in custody after escaping the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice Wednesday night. 

Sixteen-year-old Nicholas Rios is serving 35 years for several crimes, including attempted murder of a 72-year-old woman. 

After his 17th birthday, Rios will be transferred to the South Carolina Department of Corrections where he will serve out the rest of his sentence. 

There are no details currently on how Rios escaped custody.
