29 Indicted In 2018 Prison Riot That Killed Seven Inmates

(Columbia, SC) -- Twenty-nine people are indicted in connection to a prison riot that killed seven inmates in 2018.

Attorney General Alan Wilson says the riot at Lee Correctional involved members of three feuding gangs.

Wilson says the riot was organized with the use of contraband cell phones in the prison.

Four of the men indicted are no longer in jail and had bond hearings this week.
