South Carolina House Bill Would Prevent The Removal Of Historical Monuments

(Columbia, SC) -- A new South Carolina House Bill would penalize local governments that remove historical monuments.

If passed, it could mean funds being withheld from local governments that take down or change monuments.

It's part of a three-part legislative plan being called "The Story of America".

The two other bills would require the founding of the country to be taught in classrooms and for plaques to be approved by the Department of Archives without editorialization.
