Gender, Sexual Orientation Again Included In Hate Crime Bill

(Columbia, SC) -- Gender and sexual orientation are back in a hate crime bill in South Carolina.

Five days after those protections were axed, they were added in again before the measure was passed unanimously by the House Judiciary Committee.

Also in yesterday's vote, lawmakers removed stalking and harassment from the list of crimes that would qualify for an additional hate crime penalty.

The bill now heads to the House floor.
