(Fairfield County, SC) -- The V.C. Summer nuclear plant is offline after a fire.
The station was taken offline around 5:30 p.m. Monday after a transformer failure caused the fire, which was quickly put out.
The cause of the failure is being investigated.
Officials say there was no impact on the health and safety of the public or of those working at the plant.
