No Democratic Debates Held Ahead Of Primary Governor Race

(Columbia, SC) - As early voting for the June primary begins, South Carolina voters have still not heard from the Democrats running for governor.

State Senator Mia McLeod is one of the candidates, and she says a debate planned for Wednesday was canceled when former Congressman Joe Cunningham did not confirm he'd attend.

In total, there are five Democrats running for governor in the primary.

In the last gubernatorial race in 2018, Democratic candidates held three debates before the June primary.
