Early Voters Made Up 16% Of Ballots In June Primaries

(Columbia, SC)-- The South Carolina State Election Commission says early voters made up about 16-percent of the ballots in the June primaries.

The June elections marked the first time early in-person voting was permitted after a new state law took effect.

Statewide, over 125-thousand voters took advantage of the early voting period.

The commission expects more early voting for the general election in November.
