(Columbia, SC) -- A teen is in custody for allegedly bringing a loaded gun to a Columbia school.

A school resource officer found the gun in a 17-year-old's backpack at C.A. Johnson High School on Tuesday after a school administrator received a tip about it.

The teen is now charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol, carrying a weapon on school property, and possession of a weapon by a person under 18.

Police say there were no reports of threats, but their investigation continues.
