South Carolina Senate Adjourns Without Passing Abortion Ban

(Columbia, SC) -- The South Carolina Senate fails to pass an abortion ban.

Last week, the House passed a bill that would prohibit all abortions except in cases of rape and incest up to 12 weeks or if the mother's life was at risk.

A Senate committee removed the rape and incest exceptions, but the measure was unable to pass after two vote attempts Wednesday.

The South Carolina Senate adjourned without a final vote.
