(Charleston, SC)-- Hurricane Ian is heading toward South Carolina with landfall along the central coastline later today.
It had been downgraded to a tropical storm after hitting Florida, but strengthened to a Category One Hurricane overnight.
Hurricane-force winds are expected along the South Carolina coast.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation has already sent additional crews to coastal counties in preparation for the storm.
