Construction On Electric Vehicle Plant Delayed Due To Permits

(Richland County, SC)- Construction is halted on an electric vehicle plant in Richland County.

State and county officials say the work on the Scout Motors facility is delayed due to an issue with permits.

This comes after Scout Motors was granted the largest tax incentive in South Carolina's history for the new manufacturing facility.

It's expected to create four-thousand jobs when it begins operations in 2026.
