Fourteen Inmates Charged After Riot At Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center

(Columbia, SC)-- Over a dozen inmates are facing new charges after a riot at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. 

The incident happened Sunday night, sending one inmate to the hospital. 

Fourteen inmates are charged with rioting and two of them are also charged with arson and possession of contraband. 

The riot happened less than two weeks after the U.S. Department of Justice announced they were launching an investigation into the center.
