The American people seem to have no interest in foreign policy. Last month the 2 candidates debated foreign policy, but every answer seemed to get back to the economy. I only heard compliments from both sides of the aisle that the candidates understood what won votes and did their best to appeal to American voters. It's time the American voters woke up. A bad foreign policy is much more dangerous than a bad domestic policy. A bad foreign policy can get us all killed!

I know a lot of you are thinking this over dramatic. But the US has never had a war fought on it's own soil since the Civil War. Our current policy is bringing our enemies to us. Here's why.

The US at its best is thee force for good in the world. Since WWII our military has grown to be the undisputed champion of the planet. The Russia, China, and UK military combined would be about half of ours. When the US is strong the world has order. When we are soft the people with visions of world domination are emboldened. People like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Mahmoud has been building his case to the people in his region that the US, despite our 50 billion in foreign aid from our government and another 30 billion from charities to help citizens in other countries, that we are really about raping the middle east of their natural resources. That the best thing that could ever happen to the planet is if the US and Israel were gone. This is not a new feeling in the part of the world but one that was rarely acted upon.

Bill Clinton defeated George HW Bush by basically promising to focus on domestic issues. Clinton said "Right now the average American doesn't see our interests threatened to the point where we should sacrifice one American life". He took office in January of 1993 with the attitude of we need to make friends with everyone around the world and avoid conflict whenever possible. By May he handed over command of a mission to feed Somalians to the UN. And by October, Mohammed Aidid, a warlord had shot down US chopper's killing 18 American's and his followers dragged the naked corpse of US Staff Sgt William David Cleveland through the streets of Mogadishu. The President announced we were withdrawing. And the radical's took note.

Bob Dole ran in 96 on a platform of "Bill Clinton is weakening our country with his weak foreign policy" and lost by over 8 million votes. The country was doing well economically with unemployment dropping from 7.5% in 92 down to 5.6 in 95 and 5.4 in 96.

As the 90's wore on Osama Bin Laden was building his al-Qaeda group. Their stated goal is "to lift the word of God, to make his religion victorious". And to be victorious means all people who don't pledge their allegiance to their prophet Mohammed are killed. They were a fringe group starting in the late 80's. By the mid 90's they were turning in to a powerful group. In 1993 they bombed the World Trade Center. 6 people died and over 1000 were injured! Around that time our State Dept and CIA started briefing Clinton on the dangers of this group. In 1994 the group declared global jihad. In 1996 al-Qaeda officially declared war on the United States. In a piece entitled "Declaration of War against the Americans Occupying the Land of the Two Holy Places" Bin Laden printed in several world newspapers his intentions to bring us down. In August of 98 al-Qaeda bombed 3 US embassies. Over 200 people died. As the Clinton Presidency wound down al-Qaeda attacked a Navy Destroyer, the USS Cole. 17 sailors died. If you remember the 90's as an era of peace it's because our military wasn't being sent to squash al-Qaeda. We fired some rockets and hoped for the best. As you now know al-Qaeda swelled in the 90's to become a massive global operation and on Sept 11, 2001 launched a war on our soil.

We have had a strong global response since 2001 and kept al-Qaeda off our land since then. But the past 4 years we have continued to tell the world that we are soft.

In 2009 Obama made a speech called "A New Beginning" in Cairo. It wanted us to get along with everyone. It emboldened radicals and with in months we had the Arab Spring. Beginning in 2010 and rolling through 2011 and up to today we have had chaos in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, and Yemen, Bahrain and Syria. Major protests have broken out with the help of al-Qaeda in Algeria, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, and Sudan.

Yesterday we found out that Iran has been working on a bomb 3 times more powerful than the one we dropped on Hiroshima. al-Qaeda is growing due to a lack of resistance. They're growing all over the place except Afghanistan. They're growing in Yemen. They're growing in Iraq as confirmed from their doubling of weekly attacks, now up to 150! They're growing in Somalia, They're growing in Libya according to our commander in Tripoli. They just assassinated our ambassador and 3 other American's and not only have we not responded. We're still fighting with our President that it wasn't a mob response to a youtube video!

Despite the catchy Obama's chant of Bin Laden's dead and GM's alive, it's jihad that's alive and if we're not more aggresive it'll be us who is dead.
