Gay people say they were born this way. Conservatives however like to think we grew in to it our disposition. We educated ourselves in to realizing the truth! Liberals are just uneducated. Of course we all know highly intelligent liberals which seems to ruin our theory. Scientists have been studying the brain and found that people who call themselves liberal actually have a larger anterior cingulate cortex. And conservatives have larger amygdalas. Obviously the larger your amygdalas the better! LOL! I have no idea what those things are but there are physical differences in our brains that affect the way we look at facts.

Now for the handicap of being born conservative. Our brains are less likely to embrace new. New anything! We like classic. Liberals like new. Conservatives mock things like tweeting while libs jumped all over it. That gives them a huge push on their message to the folks whose amygdalas and anterior cingulate cortex are about the same size (people in the middle). We need to embrace change.

We also need to embrace youth. Young people come up with the revolutionary ideas. Issac Newton at 23 with gravity. Einstein's "miracle year" was when he was 26 and his 4 biggest inventions came at once. Henry Ford at 29 with both his quadricycle and assemblyline.  Facebook, Apple whatever. Most of the worlds best ideas are launched before someone turns 30. Liberals naturally foster young people and their ideas while the conservatives naturally look towards the wisdom of our seniors.

I would say as conservatives we would do well to recognize our weaknesses and put some effort in to changing. A lifetime of experience is a certain kind of wisdom. But youth has a different kind of wisdom that is just as valuable. Tweet me back with your thoughts ;)
