The Houston Chronicle ran a story about the Hoodie Marches that happened all over the country. The Chronicle focused on their local one and some friction that occured. 80 "Zimmerman supporters" had gathered to chant things like "we're racist and proud" Or "we're better because we're white". Clearly the fans of Trayvon and fans of not being stupid were offended by the "Zimmerman supporters" words. The NY Post/AP ran a photo of one of the "Zimmerman supporters" and identified her as Renee Vaughn of Austin. The reason I keep using quotations around Zimmerman supporters is because they were in fact far left kooks who came to start trouble posing as "right wing/Zimmerman supporters". Renee is part of a group of "community organizers" who apparently thought the best way to help the community was to get blacks and whites killing each other. Kind of like when your sibling wants to help the family by encouraging you tell Grandma what you really thought of her Thanksgiving turkey in front of everyone. THAT'S NOT HELPING! And the group of 80 morons who pulled this stunt know that.
This is not new behavior either. In 2010 as Congress debated Obamacare and the Tea Party was building momentum with their message of smaller government there were countless reports on their wide open racism. Here's a CBS news report in which our Rep James Clyburn says the tea party protesters spit on Rep Emanual Clever as they were entering the Capitol. Reps John Lewis and Andre Carson said it was like entering a time machine. "The crowd was chanting the N word at us". The Tea Party protesters who were there said none of that happened! William Owens a black Tea Party activist from AZ had travelled to the protest in DC said "I've never heard any racial slurs at Tea Party events". A video of the chants shows the crowd chanting "Kill The Bill". You can also see the alleged spitting incident with Clever. There's a cop right there with him.
Now there may have been some inadvertant spittle, but the guy is chanting the entire time and if he had loogied on the Congressman, the officer would have arrested him on the spot. I also believe some of the protesters would have "self policed a spitter".
One of the biggest complaints from conservatives is that Muslims have not distanced themselves from the radicals who are hijacking their religion. Conservatives see how easy it is for a small percentage of people to act as a groups representative and the entire group is thrown in with them unless you take steps to prove that's not how your group feels.
I believe the far left has learned that message as well. So they are attempting to create the image that conservative values are synonymous with racist values. They've created stories that say that, and now are posing as racist conservatives. I'm positive that there are some racists who identify themselves as conservatives. However the overall message of conservatism is individualism. Which is anti-racist! It's every person being rewarded by how much they accomplish.
The liberal hates that individual message, because they see it as mean. Kind, in the liberal mind, would be no one is allowed to feel superior or inferior. I believe that will happen in heaven. On earth however society needs to be pushed and incentivized in order to pull most of us up to a better way of life. And like JFK said "a rising tide lifts all boats". The poorest in America lives better than most middle class around the world. As the former Harvard Professor James Q Wilson noted in the Washington Post last year, poverty in America now means plenty of food, color TV's, cell phones, and air conditioning. That means our poor live more comfortable lives than many "middle class" citizens in 2nd and 3rd world countries. Our "safety net" is where billions of people in India, China, Africa, Central and South America can only dream of. By not incentivizing their best to fight for more and more they have caused their poor and middle class to languish. In other words the liberal definition of kind, all must feel equal, is the mean spirited racist position. For the good of all American's let's pray that the infiltration of conservative movements by anyone who is using conservatism as a form of racism is quickly separated from the cause. Whether they are plants or genuinely hate anyone is not important. What is important is that all American's feel like the conservative movement is open to anyone who wants to work hard. That America is still a fair measuring stick to see how your efforts and talents stack up against others. And that your income potential is only limited by your efforts and talents.
