A man entered a West Columbia bank Thursday morning with a large knife and demanded money.
After employees complied, police say the suspect left Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union on Sunset Boulevard and went to another bank a few blocks away.
As officers responding to the robbery searched the area, they say they found the man in the second facility, Congaree State Bank, where he said he was waiting for a taxi.
Police say they also noticed stolen cash underneath the man's shirt, and he was taken into custody.
The knife believed used in the robbery was located near the scene.
Police have charged 50-year-old Timothy Osbourne with armed robbery.
