Brett Parker took the stand in his own defense Friday in his trial for the murder of his wife and sports betting partner.
Parker said it was ridiculous, even crazy, to think that he killed his wife, Tammy.
He told jurors that even though their marriage had problems, he loved her and never would hurt her.
He said they did not separate because it would hurt their children.
Parker also said he didn't know much about his wife's life insurance policy, which prosecutors contend was one reason he killed his wife.
But Parker blamed his her death on Bryan Capnerhurst, insisting his gambling partner killed her while Brett Parker was in the bathroom.
Parker said Capnerhurst then took him at gunpoint to a safe, where Parker was able to grab another gun and shoot Capnerhurst in self-defense.
