A driver whose vehicle struck a motorcycle ridden by an off-duty Richland County Sheriff's deputy and his wife has been charged with driving under suspension.
Records show 26-year-old Scotrell Praylow's license was suspended after he failed to pay for a traffic ticket.
Investigators say Praylow was driving along Highway 391 near Hutto Island Road in Saluda County Wednesday night when his car went off the right side of the road, he overcorrected and the car crossed the center line, colliding with the oncoming motorcycle.
45-year-old Derek El Dada died at the scene, while his wife, Leigh El Dada, died at a hospital a short time later.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says Sergeant El Dada (pictured) was a deputy for nine years.
Funeral services are scheduled for June 25th in Lexington at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church on Sunset Boulevard at 2 p.m.
The memorial service is open to the public.
