Columbia police have made an arrest in connection with the dragging death of a man in the Earlewood neighborhood on Sunday.
They've arrested the brother of the suspect.
24-year-old German Zuniga-Torres (pictured above) is being charged with accessory after the fact because police say he has helped his older brother avoid arrest.
Investigators believe 29-year-old Dany Zuniga-Torres drove a minivan that killed 53-year-old Calvin Smith.
Smith and another man were fighting over a cell phone, and witnesses say a third man tried to break it up, then drove off in a blue or silver Dodge minivan towing an enclosed white trailer.
But the two men who were fighting got caught between the back of the minivan and the front of the trailer and were dragged along.
One was able to get free, but police say Smith was dragged an estimated 16-hundred feet and died from his injuries.
When taken into custody, Dany Zuniga-Torres is expected to be charged with hit-and-run resulting in death.
His last know address is 715 Center Street in West Columbia, but police say he may also have ties to Florida and Honduras.
