CAMDEN, S.C. (AP/WVOC) - State troopers are joining Kershaw County deputies and other local law enforcement for a crackdown on dangerous driving.
The Highway Patrol says extra officers are on hand in Kershaw County through Saturday.
The goal is to stop a sharp increase in traffic fatalities.
Kershaw County has had 11 highway deaths so far this year after having 12 deaths in all of last year.
Eight of the 11 deaths this year have been in alcohol-related crashes.
Officers are looking for impaired drivers, aggressive drivers and speeders.
