Authorities have now arrested four suspects in a string of convenience store robberies in the Lexington and West Columbia communities.
Police say all four are members of the Bloods criminal gang.
Charged in one or more of the robberies are three suspects from Columbia – 18-year-old Rayjon Smith, 24-year-old Travis Bromell, and a 16-year-old boy.
The fourth suspect, 19-year-old Dontrell Sharperson, is from Orangeburg.
And arrests warrants have also been issued for 18-year-old Antwon Brown, who currently is being held in the Richland County jail on unrelated charges.
The robberies occurred overnight between May 23rd and July 12th and in each case, the suspects covered their faces with cloths or masks to conceal their identities, ran into the stores and forced clerks to open cash registers, then stole money, tobacco products and beer before driving off.
The stores targeted were Pitt Stop at 3809 Sunset Boulevard on May 23rd, Circle K at 2308 Augusta Road on June 23rd, Kangaroo Express at 3950 Augusta Road on July 8th and Murphy Express at 4873 Augusta Road on July 12th.
