EASTOVER, S.C. (AP/WVOC) - A non-profit started by Governor Nikki Haley is asking residents to donate books for children in rural counties it serves.
The Original Six Foundation is organizing a statewide book drive from August 5th through August 17th.
The governor and her non-profit's board of directors are asking people to donate new or gently used children's and South Carolina history books.
Collection boxes will be placed in all 67 state Department of Motor Vehicles offices across the state.
The books will be donated to libraries, schools, and after-school programs in seven rural counties, including Clarendon County in the Midlands.
