A driver has been arrested after troopers say a pedestrian was struck and killed Wednesday night in a hit-and-run incident near Ridge View High School.
The Highway Patrol says 27-year-old Tres Reep was driving a pickup that hit the pedestrian along Hardscrabble Road shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Reep, taken into custody about three hours later, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death, driving too fast for conditions and illegal window tint.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has released the name of the pedestrian.
He says 56-year-old Diane Scott of Columbia was struck while walking on the edge of the roadway.
She died at the scene.
