SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. (AP/WVOC) - A choice has been announced for the new top senior enlisted officer for the U.S. Army Central and the 3rd Army at Shaw Air Force Base.
Command Sergeant Major Ronnie Kelley comes to the Sumter installation from Fort Bliss, Texas, where he served as the command sergeant major for the 1st Armored Division.
The native of Bryan, Texas, is a 27-year Army veteran whose career includes three tours in Iraq.
Kelley has been assigned to Bosnia, Germany, South Korea and throughout the United States.
He'll replace Command Sergeant Major Stephen Frennier who will retire from the Army after 33 years.
The headquarters for the U.S. Army Central and the 3rd Army transferred to Shaw from Georgia back in 2011.
