Richland County Sheriff's deputies got a 911 call about a burglary in progress at Horrell Hill Baptist Church in Hopkins Thursday.
When they arrived, they say they caught the suspects in the act.
“Deputies were able to locate cousins Gregory and Danny Skinner, who were hiding in the woods, and then also apprehended the girlfriend of one of the cousins, Melea Walker, who was attempting to flee in a stolen pickup truck,” says Sheriff's Sergeant Curtis Wilson.
He says 33-year-old Gregory Skinner (pictured) was already wanted as a suspect in at least seven other burglaries in Lower Richland County since the first of this year.
Wilson says Skinner had broken into residences, businesses and churches where there were thefts of merchandise, jewelry, yard maintenance equipment, a camera and copper from air conditioning units that totaled some $80,000 in value and damages.
