ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP/WVOC) - A former Orangeburg church youth minister has been charged with assault and battery after a woman accused him of groping her.
The Times and Democrat newspaper reports that a city judge set a $10,000 bail for 36-year-old Patrick Hattler in Orangeburg Municipal Court and ordered Hattler to have no further contact with the woman.
Investigators say said the incident happened at Cornerstone Church in April.
The woman told police that Hattler pushed her against a wall and groped her when they were alone in a room.
The newspaper said church officials fired Hattler from his job as youth minister and told him to leave the church.
Hattler denies the charges.
