A Lexington County man has been accused of severely beating a 3-year-old boy.
53-year-old Michael Still is charged with inflicting great bodily harm upon a child, which is a felony that carries a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison.
Sheriff's Major John Allard says, “An arrest warrant alleges that on Sunday, September 15th, Still assaulted the 3-year-old boy, using his hands to punch the boy several times at a Gaston home.
“As a result of the assault, the 3-year-old boy suffered a fractured hip, severe bruises and swelling on his face, upper torso and lower torso...as well as a seizure.”
Allard says at the time of the incident, Still was alone at the home with the child and was responsible for his well-being.
The boy was taken to Palmetto Health Children's Hospital for treatment.
