COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP/WVOC) - South Carolina's unemployment rate isn't getting any worse, but it also isn't getting any better.
The Department of Employment and Workforce says the August jobless rate remained unchanged from July at 8.1%.
The statewide unemployment rate has been either 8% or 8.1% each month since April.
It was 9.1% a year ago.
By county last month, Marion County had the state's highest or worst jobless rate at 15.1%, while Lexington County had the lowest rate at 6.5%.
