It was four years ago today that a man was shot to death in Lexington County and authorities are again asking your help in solving that case.
Sheriff's Major John Allard says investigators do not think the shooting of 21-year-old Andrew Powell of Gaston was a random act.
“Deputies arrived at Powell's home after Powell's stepfather, Billy Mack Powell, called the Lexington County Communications Center and reported that he had arrived home at about 4 a.m. and found that Andrew Powell was not breathing and might be dead,” Allard says.
“Deputies found Andrew Powell lying on his back in the corner of the home's living room. Andrew Powell was deceased.”
Allard says detectives have identified persons of interest in the 2009 case.
And anyone with information on Powell or his death is being asked to contact the Sheriff's Department or Crimestoppers.
