COLUMBIA, S.C. (SCRN/WVOC) - A full-service metal-forming supplier says it will open a new production facility in Richland County creating 134 new jobs over the next five years.
Dayton Rogers Manufacturing Company, headquartered in Minnesota, plans to invest approximately $11-million.
CEO Ron Lowry says he felt the company needed a bigger presence in the Southeast region.
“South Carolina believed in manufacturing,” Lowery says. “They understood the four-to-one ratio and if you have a strong manufacturing base you will have a healthy economy.
"And I think that is just a wonderful attitude. Quite honestly, I didn't find that anywhere else I looked, and I looked a lot of places.”
Dayton Rogers Manufacturing provides services that include sheet metal fabrication, machining and metal stamping.
The new plant is located on 2nd Avenue in Columbia and expected to be operational before the end of the year.
The company will begin hiring for the new positions in October.
