A collision between two motorcycles in Richland County on Saturday night led to the death of one of the bikers.
County Coroner Gary Watts says a motorcycle driven by 29-year-old Tavaris Harp of Sumter was traveling at a high rate of speed about 9:30 p.m. on Trotter Road near Garners Ferry Road when it collided with another motorcycle traveling with him.
Watts says both drivers lost control and Harp crossed into the path of an oncoming car.
The coroner says Harp was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene.
The driver of the second motorcycle was transported to an area hospital and was last reported in serious condition.
